First of all I don't think anyone should be owning guns, citizen or not. Secondly, even if we didn't allow aliens from owning guns, that wouldn't necessarily have prevented the VT massacre. Crazies will find the means to obtain guns regardless of what the law says. Case in point: this crazy didn't obtain his guns the legal way.

My wife is a permanent resident of the USA, but a German citizen. She LOVES this country - more than a lot of Americans do. She should be denied a gun because of a nut case in Virginia? She is a law-abiding citizen, and would lay down her own life to protect others. I paid for her gun - one that was, ironically, made in Germany!

If a US citizen were the shooter we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
I personally don't think anyone should be buying firearms, but putting that aside, if an alien passes the same a background check a citizen does, I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to buy a gun.

Race or Religion doesnt matter, if someone wants a gun they will get a gun.As it is utterly thousands have guns without a permit.Making it a right to only americans wont solve a thing.

I have my feelings about them being allowed but they are buying them nonetheless. Look at what just happened at Virginia Tech. He was able to buy two guns, & the receipt for at least one of them was found on his person after the shooting rampage was over.
