True love is wanting the best for the other person even if that isn't you. Love waits, is patient, is forgiving, is loyal, and thinks of the other person first. Lots of folks these days think love is a fast beating heart when the other person calls, or how good the two of you are in bed. They think it means you can't do without the other person, and you think about them all the time and want to be with them. Part of that IS a portion of love, but love is more than lust and wanting. It's being sure that the other person's wants, needs, dreams and fears are as important to you as your own are. THAT'S love.

The interaction of, among other things, the chemical oxytoxin. It sends signal which produce hormones and other physiological responses. The intended goal of love is to keep people together long enough to produce sustainable offspring. This is why love wears off after awhile (the duration is long enough to ensure the offspring/mother will be okay). Humans, however, keep a semblance of the biological love that mirrors a really good friendship and/or business arrangement. They call this love as well.

Love is when two people can do anythign together, say anything to eachother, be best friends, have good times, and bad, help eachother with anything. Love is deep. Love is not just about looks. Its about the whole package. When you would do anything for that one special person.

Love is when u can't eat and it hurts to breathe...when you lose sleep, and don't mind it...
Love is when U can't focus on work or the other daily things you are expected to do.
Love is good, and it's bad...
Love makes you cry, smile, laugh, and scream all at the same moment.
Love is all that and more....
And yet that doesn't even begin to discribe what it is!

“Love is patient; love is kind
and envies no one.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.
There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith,
its hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things
that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love.”

I can't remember which philosopher said it, "Love is the unselfish giving of oneself the another."
Of course this is done within reason. "I love you, yes you can beat me," wouldn't qualify.
