Sometimes I do. Generally, for instance, if someone hates Radiohead, I simply write them off.

No, I don't judge people on their taste in music- unless I were looking for a potential roommate. I don't think I could handle living with someone who was always listening to gangsta rap, redneck country, or technopop. By the same token, someone who hated female singer-songwriters and folk would have a difficult time living with me.

No. I think it's worse for someone to pretend to like something just because they think they should, as it's "cool", than for them to like something different from myself. Of course, I might not have as much in common with me so we might not be friends anyway, but I prefer people I know and like to be honest with themselves; and no one should be ashamed of the music they like. There's very little music that I can say I really dislike anyway; I'm not a big fan of popular rap/hiphop, but I can be friends with people who like it. Diversity is important.

I like Radiohead. I also like the Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, and Panic! At the Disco. People may well judge me on that; but I have my reasons for each band I listen to, and I don't think people who judge me poorly for it are worth my time.

and sometimes, you can end up likeing someone more because he loves the same music as i do :P

I think you really can tell a lot about someone by their taste in music.

it's kind of weird, but whenever i meet someone new (particularly guys) they always ask me what kind of music i'm into, and if they tell me they like blink 182 of sum 41 or something kind of lame like that, i switch subjects.

so yeah i guess i kind of do..and i'm sure people do the same of me.

I try not to, but it's tough sometimes. Esp. when they say they're into stuff like 'Idol', or Hilary Duff.
