You probably don't need THAT much power, but most of the Core 2 processors are definitely worth the money. www.newegg.com is a good place to find good prices on them (and just about everything else, for that matter)

No, you don't need to spend $800 on 4 cores just at this point in time, not worth the money at all. By the end of the year that chip will be under $300, look at it then.

Well if u ask whether is it worth money then it is, but right now it isnt. Since the programming of the chip on how to use the two cores for different applications is still in its budding stage. So it depends whether u want the future technology now itself and use it later. but it works fine just as normal processor for now..but to realise its real performance the programming of the chip should develop.
