Ovulation happens 10-16 days before the start of your next period--with 14 being about average. This is called your luteal phase and it will be the same each cycle. As for the temping--basal body temping--it can help determine when you ovulate. You take your temp each morning before getting out of bed at the same time every day. The days after ovulation you will see an increase in temp, called thermal shift, that lets you know you've O'd. This method won't tell you when you are going to ovulate, just after it has happened. But it is still very useful and I strongly recommend it. But you need to use another method in combo with the BBT. Ovulation predictor kits--the urine kind, fertility monitor, saliva scope (I don't like these personally), or by charting your secondary fertility signs.
The first thing-ovulation predictor kits--you test each day in the afternoon with a test. When both lines are the same color you will O in about 36hours. They cost about $20 a cycle.
The fertility monitor--costs around $150 and $30 for 3 months of tests. Very easy to read--it tells you when to test and when you are ovulating.
The saliva scope--you put saliva on it and when it ferns you are getting close to O--cost around $30-50.
Secondary fertility signs, free, but can take a few cycles to figure out. You check your cervix for position, openness, firmness, and your cervical mucus to see when you are getting close to O.
I would be happy to help answer any other questions you have.

This is a really good website to help you track your menstrual and ovulation cycles. I use this very often and I'm also ttc and tomorrow I will be getting a progesterone level blood test done to see If I did ovulate and if I'm pregnant....Good luck to you!
It's different for every woman, when it comes to ovulation...it's between 7-21 days after the 1st day of your menstrual...and some women know they are ovulating when they have a small cramp around the ovary areas...the secretions are like egg whites...and if you really want to get technical there is the checking of the uterus with your fingers to see the position of the cervix....and the basal temperature readings...which means around ovulation it will be slightly higher...just go to the website they should have a whole section about this subject. The best time to start having sex is at the end of your period every other day (to allow the sperm to concentrate) until you know you've stopped ovulating...

You can get an ovulation predictor at your local drug store, that can help. But also i do know if you have sex 4 days before or after your period, its easiest to get pregnant. It worked for me needless to say , even though i wasn't trying. Best wishes!

a baby will come when you least expect it. So if you stress about it, you wont conceive. Stop trying and just enjoy the love making with your partner. Its more pleasurable than thinking...there better be a baby from this...

provided that your husband sperm count is high an you eggs are healthy, then your biggest problem is you are to up tight about getting pregnant, and you can also try this, but you have to do it in the missionary position, when your husband his finish his climax, push your legs back as for to your head as you can get them, hold them there to let them little sperms flow down into the vagina to meet them little eggs.and in so doing you will look how ridiculous you look and you will begin to laugh and relax and let nature take its course.
