Maybe the fuel filter got clogged up when you pumped the water and crud out of the bottom of your fuel tank. Hopefully the full pump hasn't burned out due to lack of cooling. Normally, the gasoline cools the pump motor, but when you run out of gas, it could cause pump problems. Get a fuel pressure gauge and attach it to the schrader valve on your fuel injection rail if there is a schrader valve (looks like an air fill valve on a tire). You should read 40 psi or so I believe. But change the fuel filter first.

It's very possible that if you ran your Jeep out of gas that some of the inevitable sediment gathered in your fuel filter? You might want to check that and even replace it.

If you have fuel injection you may need to purge the air out of the fuel system. Sometimes fuel injection needs to be primed after running out of gas. If it is a carbuerator, you may have sucked up something and clogged the fuel filter. Change that first.

As Jon stated, hold it on the floor and DO NOT PUMP the pedal. With fuel injection there is no need to pump the pedal, you have flooded the engine. If that doesn't work, then you've probably burned up the fuel pump. Do you hear the fuel pump kick in when you turn the ignition on?

Check the fuel pump and bleed the fuel lines. Either the fuel pump is dead and you don't have fuel pressure or you have air in the lines and the fuel is not getting through

Are you sure it ran out of gas or did the fuel pump die on you and you think it ran out of fuel. Check for fuel pressure.

Put more gas, it doesn't take a middle-schooler to figure that one out.
