If a Republican is elected or if a Democrat is elected to the presidency?

I agree with Juangato that it doesn't matter who is in the office right now. I believe short term 6month it will be up a little, 6months to 2 years from now the technology will come back so thus the stock prices and 3 to 8years from now we will re-visit the Nasdaq 5300. You have to remember that during the dotcom bust investor went everywhere meaning emerging economies like Russia, Latin America, Mexico, India and China and so the US real-estate. Once this emerging economies and Real-Estate start to correct they will comeback to the US Equities again and thus the speculator will come in and bid the US stock price higher.

I don't think it matters much who is elected. If you look at the Dow over a 50 year period (or more) it tends to go in cycles. I think it'll be relatively flat in the next 5 to 10 years but that's just my opinion.
