Herb Washington:
Washington held world indoor track records in both the 50- and 60-yard dashes (5.0 and 5.8 seconds), but hadn't played baseball since his junior year in high school when A's owner Charlie Finley signed him as the club's designated pinch runner two weeks before the 1974 season. He appeared in 104 games in 1974-75, never batting, and he stole 30 bases, but was not nearly as good a base stealer as his speed would suggest. In the 1974 WS, Washington ran for Joe Rudi in the ninth inning of Game Two after Rudi's single had cut Oakland's deficit to 3-2, and was promptly picked off by Dodgers pitcher Mike Marshall. (SCL)

I'd say Cecil Fielder, Jim Thome, or Mo Vaughn. Fastest players to the feeding frenzy in the locker room after each game.
Lou Brock was pretty fast.

I'm sure nobody here ever saw him play, but by all accounts Cool Papa Bell - a former ***** League star - is considered to be the fastest player of all time.

As far as stolen bases, Ricky Henderson perfected that art form.
Don't really see much speed in baseball anymore, unless it's it the kind taken in the clubhouse.
I'm a Tiger fan, so we don't have fast base stealers. We had Nook Logan, but like many fast runners, he couldn't hit and got sent to the Nationals.

Ichiro, he is amazing. He has stolen something like 32 straight bases. He is near impossible to throw out and consistantly gets infield hits on typically routine groudn balls. He has amazing speed, I have seen him and Henderson in person and to my surprise Ichiro is faster. Also, watch how much groud he covers in the outfield, he is def the fastest player ever.

There may have been faster base stealers, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone faster hitting a triple (or inside the park homerun) than Willie McGee with the Cardinals.
