the major to creating x the problem is information that you're trying to getting all x words on one fringe of the equivalent signal. to bypass words you should do the different. So in case you word a subtraction signal you should characteristic, etc... If the equation is meant to be examine (3x + b)/2 = x + a, then confer with Dee W answer. If meant to be examine 3x + b/2 = x + a, then 3x + b/2 = x + a initiating equation 3x = x + a - b/2 subtraction b/2 on each and each area 2x = a + b/2 subtracted x on each and each area x = (a + b/2)/2 divided by 2 to get x on its own. desire it helped.

ALWAYS remember Whatever you do on one side of an equation you MUST do to the Other Side.
y = (x/a-x)
Multiply both sides by (a-x)
y(a-x) = x
Expand
ay - xy = x
Rearrange
x + xy = ay
Factorise
x(1 + y) = ay
Divide both sides by (1 + y)
x = {ay/(1 + y)}

PS if x is divided by a - x the equation should be written as :-
Y = x/(a - x)
The equation as given is read as:-
Y = (x/a) - x.
Playing a hunch and going with the first equation:-
(a - x).Y = x
aY - xY = x
aY = x + xY
aY = (1 + Y).x
x = aY / (1 + Y)

x = ay / (1-a)
do you need the steps, too?
multiply both sides by a;
ya = x -ax
then factor out x on the right
ya = x (1-a)
divide both sides by (1-a)
ya/(1-a)= x

Try this:
Y= x/a-x
= (x - ax)/a
aY = x - ax
= x (1 - a)
x = aY/(1 - a)
Hope this helps and if you like it vote for it!!

Multiply both sides by the denominator (a-x)
(a-x)y= [x/(a-x)](a-x)
ay-xy=x
Gather your terms with x in them.
ay =x+xy
Factor the right hand side.
ay = x(1+y)
Divide both sides by (1+y).
ay/(1+y) = x or
x = ay/(1+y)
