What types of music does the UK mostly listen to? like punk, or metal or someting?

UK music is crap! Im from the UK and mostly listen to America's music SO MUCH BETTER

UK, in my opinion, is where the best and most diverse amount of bands come from (all grudges aside - I'm Irish, lol!).
But it seems like the most popular music at the moment is alternative/indie music, like The Libertines, The Artic Monkeys and The Kooks.

I dont think the uk listens to a particular kind of music as i like rock but all my friends like various typesbut one of the most popular is the rubbish x factor puts out, i really dont get that as its aweful!

Basically the same as the US however they have a lot of Artists (Indie) that are more popular over in the UK and haven't had a lot of exposure in the US. Check out Amy Winehouse shy is so fly!

american music basically sux!!! uk music always has been & will be better than the crap produced by american artists!!! does the u.s. have placebo,oasis, muse, libertines, babyshambles, dirty pretty things, the horrors??? no!!! nuff said!!!

(beatles, pink floyd, radiohead, sugababes, muse, placebo, robbie williams etc are all british)
