we take every anecdotal incident in Iraq as a sign if failure or success- Does not this incident then deserve similar consideration?

Wow,I read some responses before I decided to answer and some people are angry. Not a very sensitive question but I see your comparison. When fighting and surprise attacks happen we should not run and hide claiming life is to hard to deal with. We figure out what is working and what is not working adjust tactics and move Forward. Retreat is not the answer in Virginia and it is not the answer in Iraq.

No. And actually there were two suicide bombings on 14 Oct 2004. It is suspected that they were Jordanian though. One was at the Haiji Mart and the other at the Lone Star Cafe. These were popular military places to go and shop. About a month after that there was a 2,400 lb bomb that a suicide bomber drove and blew up at the gate near the Al Rasheed Hotel. About two months after that one, a mortar penetrated the embassy building killing 3 civilian/military persons. So there have been other suicide bombings and attacks. In fact, during Ramadan there are attacks every night. Mortars mostly, because suicide bombings need to be planned months in advance. Clearance is hard to get to get into the Green Zone. And then to pick a location to bomb. Most people who work in the Green Zone like the Americans and Military so they wouldn't do anything to hurt them.

According to the Lunatic Left, you know the "Bush is the Devil" crew, this is also a fault of the Bush Administration.

I have heard loons say that this is because people see Bush attacking Iraq shows people that violence is the answer rather than discussion when presented with a problem. And so that is why this horrific act occurred...... WHAT?!?!?!??!?!

And this Jim Moran, D-VA, weighed in that that it is Bush's fault! Are you frigging kidding me!?!?!?!?!

How the hell do you take a terrible situation like this and spin it into a political rant? People should be ashamed!

As a Liberal I pulled out of Virginia years ago. Look what happened Insurgents took over.

I used to look out across the river from my Georgetown home and see the terror.

These were Americans who died in VA and happened in the US.
Do you care more about Iraq and the Iraqi people? Why don't you go live there with the other terrorists. Take your bleeding heart and go to the Mid-East and save that country and leave the rest of us out it. Stupid Commie.

The liberals on here are angry that you are asking this.

How come its ok to polarize Iraq but here oh no can't do that. Get on Yahoo's homepage "35 more dead in Bagdad" Yet you make an excellent point and they say hey you can't do that. Hilarous

Liberals will be liberals.

I prayed for the victims and their families. On days like yesterday (and 911) we're all Americans.

Cute. Better yet, I say we declare war on South Korea as they are now sending terrorists over to infiltrate our college campuses. The Dub seems ready to leave Iraq to its civil war, so time to find some new targets!

republicans and conservatives need to look at this guy and those like him who will chose to politicize EVERYTHING in order to advance their deceptive agenda.

what i don't hear are the sane republicans and conservatives out there, the good people who are just regular folk, speaking out and making it clear that radicals like the asker of this question DON'T speak for them.

the reality is that if cons and repubs allow guys like this to be the face of their party and their voice, they will lose and become the permanent minority that they sought to illegally impose on others.

it's funny how the world works, what goes around, comes around...
