The show is trying to get back the momentum it had the first season with the mystery. It wants us all guessing.

He probably did something to hurt her and she killed him. But she still loves him & is preserving him.
It reminds me of Janet from another Planet on All My Children. She did the same thing to her hubby a while back. She didn't view it as killing him because she is wacko!!!

Maybe she wants his DNA for cloning or reproduction, or going to sell his body parts to 'desperate' patients.
