There is no danger in attacking an unarmed person. They're easier to hurt and steal from, and ultimately to kill if they can not defend themselves.

Unarmed people are just victims waiting to happen. Everyone should learn about self-defense, carry a weapon of some kind, and know how to react in an emergency.
Just one person with a concealed weapon in the dorm or classroom could have prevent the tragedy in Virginia in seconds.
All of these stupid laws that remove one of the most powerful forms of protection from the public's hands - the right to own guns - is to blame for making everyone a victim. We should all be armed all the time. That in itself will make people think twice about commiting crimes, and by not being a victim, you can prevent crimes.

That's just the basic facts of life, even in the animal world. Most predatory animals prey on the sick, the old, and the very young. Simply because they're too weak to fight back, or they're too inexperienced to put up a fight. If you knew there was a very good chance that you would get shot in the face for your actions, you would at LEAST have to think about your actions very hard before committing. Most people would not perform the action. However, if you knew that there would be no chance of being shot in the face for your actions, the only thing that stops you from performing the action is your own morals, and legal consequences.
The psycho at VT obviously had no morals, and he didn't much care for legal consequences since he killed himself. No, nothing stopped him from.

To avoid the occupational hazard of getting shot themselves. In the States that have adopted Right To Carry laws the crime rate dropped. It can clearly mapped out. Look at the cities with the strictest gun controls and those with the least then compare the crime rates. Wash. DC, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles will be at or near the top in both anti gun laws and high crime.

Killers often prey on unarmed people because they're in emotional pain and don't know how to deal appropriately with it. They need help and those around them ignore the signs when they should be going to someone with their concerns so the person could have a chance to get help. Most people could have access to a dozen weapons but would not harm an innocent person. It's those whose needs have gone unnoticed or ignored.

I love that "loaded" question, very good.
I would never have carried a weapon on campus though, although I am licensed to carry. But, were I going to school now, I probably would - even if it is against the law on campus. I mean, a weapons charge after the fact, if I survive, is worth it. One armed citizen, just ONE in that hall yesterday could have put a stop to the slaughter.
