Well you can't just say that those are too exciting of matchups to play them against other teams. You should think of another playoff format then.

That is usually the nature of a #4-#5 matchup. It SHOULD be the most exciting, because they are the closest in rank to one another. What is the point of being #1 or #2 seed if you have to face someone that matches up against you well. Of course, in the NHL, that doesn't always matter! I like it find the way it is. It is not like you can guarantee those teams would get out of the first round to play one another later anyway.

That is always how 4 against 5 seed matchups are. And even 3-6 matchups especially when the 5 seed only has a couple fewer points than number 3. These always seem to be the most intense.

Why cant you just appreciate the good matchups there are, instrad of whining about them. This is the system,
if SJ and Nash. are so exciting, why are they only 4 and 5 seeds?? Because their records werent as good as others teams. Out of the 8 teams, that arelikely going to round 2, the only one that doesnt really interest me, is TB. I dont hate them, they just do nothing for me.

I think the worst thing that happened was Atlanta beating Tampa Bay in the last game of the year, if Tampa beat Atlanta, then the Devils would be playing the Rangers one rivalry series, plus that would be a big story because they played last year in the playoffs (wasn't happy with the results), and Atlanta would be playing Tampa in the playoffs, another rivalry, that would be 3 great matchups in the east.

As stated elsewhere, if you have a better SYSTEM than they have, now's the time to suggest it. Otherwise be aware that a "boring" team is what is in YOUR mind, NOT to 99% of all Hockey fans.
You might also explain why the two series you mentioned are "exciting" and others (presumably) are not.

They are exciting matchups but I think it is safe to say that all the playoff teams are pretty good and have some great players to watch.

Luck of the draw. So far there really hasn't been a bad game in any series. Gotta love playoff hockey. Now could we get some OT tonight?

This is what makes the Playoffs so exciting, that and things like Tampa Bay making NJ worry.

You go with the flow. SJ - Anaheim and Buffalo - Ottawa in the Western and Eastern Finals will be equally entertaining.
