Here in the USA, you're an ADULT at age EIGHTEEN !!
SO, to answer your QUESTION... the Federal Government (Congress) determined "majority" (adult-hood) via the 26th Amendment (Voting Age) in 1971.
Prostitution isn't covered under the Constitution, and therefor, legislation of it falls to "the various States"... technically, it is legal in ONLY Nevada and Rhode Island.
Age of Consent ALSO falls under State Jurisdiction... and in MOST States, that age is 18 also.

Teenagers are not allowed to prostitute themselves; if they get caught, they will be sentenced, even in the county in Nevada or Amsterdam that has legal prostitution.

Where are you from? Where I live... in the USA.... prostitution is illegal regardless of your age. There are the exceptions of a few places like Nevada... right outside of Vegas there are some whore houses that ar legal, but for the most part prostitution is illegal.

Can you please provide a reference to this? Last time I checked, prostitution was illegal in most places, and where it was legal, you had to be an adult.
Also, legally you are an adult at the age of 18.

don't know where you're from, but this is yahoo usa. in the usa prostitution is illegal in every state except Nevada. at any age.
personally i would legalize and regulate it; been here since the dawn of mankind, and isn't going away soon.
(a) there are health issues, not the least of which is AIDS/HIV.
(b) there are criminal issues; many prostitutes of all ages are virtual slaves to a pimp, drug dealer, or criminal organization.
