I think somebody such as the president of the university needs to be severly punished such as being fired.

As far as the coward shooter, I think its too bad that they didn't get to him before he killed himself. Its too bad he couldn't have spent his life rotting in jail.

I think we all need to pray for the families that are going through so much right now and will be for a long time to come.

I totally agree with you. There's no excuse to why the campus wasn't closed down after the first incident. It's a shooting, not a fight or someone got stabbed. Two ppl were dead, point blank. That's more of a reason to close the f'ing school down. Why wasn't it broadcast over the loud speaker. A school that big has got to have a loud speaker warning students. They should've had security at every entrance when students were arriving to the campus to redirect them back home until the first incident was thoroughly investigated.

This is a cover-up. 26,000 students could've been warned in 2 hours. Someone needs to be fired for this s**t. This is unacceptable.

I really feel sorry for the parents and families of the students and faculty members that were lost due to this tragedy.

Please everyone stop making excuses for the Admin, and the Chief officer of the school. Whether or not, the first incident was a domestic dispute, two students were killed and that was enough grounds to shut the campus down completly. Two hours was enough time to get the word across campus and could've of possibly save 32 student lives.

In a situation like this, I think it would hae been much better to be safe then sorry. The campus should have been locked down immedietly after the first shooting and the school should have given the students a quicker warning. Who knows how many lives could have been saved if things were done differently. I think the president of the university should be held at least partielly responsible for the lack of response in a timely fashion.

Well, if at the first shooting scene there'd been a big sign left saying "I'm gonna go shoot some more folks" and it was ignored, then yeah, maybe. Why does he need to be fired, you think he isn't suffering? Would you want to be him at the moment? Your kind of thinking just adds more victims to the list, aren't there enough victims for you yet? People do the best they can with what they have, sometimes it's the perfect choice, sometimes, with hindsight, we question our actions. But does that make the university president negligent? Just be glad it wasn't you having to make the call and give the man credit for trying. The one at fault is the shooter, he's who killed those people, he's who is to blame. End of story.

They had every reason to think that it was just one incident. They had no way of knowing that he was planning to go on an all out rampage. From what I hear, one of the first people that was shot was his girlfriend. If that's the case, they might have just thought of it as a domestic-related murder.

The recent shooting at Washington was like that, and I don't believe that they locked down the entire campus.

And the killer locked down Norris Hall himself, by chaining up the doors so people couldn't escape. So lock downs may not necessarily have been the best solution. He could still have found ways into the buildings.

Would you rather pay more taxes to keep this guy in jail, or use all that money to buy a house or a car?

It's eye for an eye with you. I'll bet you're a Christian.

I think they thought the guy had fled the scene. i was a few miles away when it happened, my truck was being loaded. i left yesterday morning, had no clue what was going on. As i was traveling up I77 and crossing the west virginia line heading north, there were about 30 virginia state trooper cars that passed me, sirens blaring, and this was a mile north of the state line. whoever they were after, the state line sure didn't slow them down. these weren't west virginia HP cars, Virginia. this was about 10am. I didn't hear about what happened until an hour or so later.

you can not blame anyone for not announcing the earlier shooting since no one could capture in their minds that someone would continue shooting at people like that.

the president was probably trying to deal with the first shooting thinking "oh my god how will we announce something so horrific happened to a dorm?how will i keep students calm?" it was impossible to think "oh lets announce two shootings asap cause the shooter will probably shoot 30 people more...."

my deepest condolences to all the families and friends of the victims and my sympathies to the injured and all who witnessed the tragedy.

to all "loners" out there...get your head straight !!!!

He shot a man and a woman in a dorm; they thought it was a "domestic" incident and that the shooter would not be back.
99.999% of the time they would have been right. This time they were wrong.
