I thought with all the gun control laws there were background checks and waiting periods. Why would we allow a non-citizen to purchase guns of any kind and risk that they could be terrorists?

This is a horrible tradgedy but their will some good to come out of this. Gun laws will be reviewed. I am an NRA memeber and an avid hunter-I have been saying for a long time their needs to be more control-and you will still be allowed to own guns if you are a responsible CITIZEN.

NO, I think that US should not allow a non-us to purchase a gun because guns should remain in the hands of only us citizens as if later on we come to that the person is a terroist or is using the gun in wrong means it might become a trouble for US

nope.

it's easy.

don't forget that in states like virginia they have the gun show loophole that so many well funded activist lobbyists have fought so hard for.

that loophole states that at a gun show a crazy person can show up and buy a gun with cash and have literally not background check and barely a record of the purchase.

but the cons on the right wing noise machine are already blaming liberals for this - amazing.

how about a little bit of sanity in our gun laws...

For legally obtained handguns, I believe you need a background check and a permit (at least in NJ.) If you are asking because of the VT shootings, it is important to know that the weapons used in those shootings were illegal - the serial numbers were scraped off.

Those weapons were not obtained by legal means, and no amount of gun control whould have changed a thing.

It's legal as long as you have a green card and no crime record.
