if i am 17, and the guy was 19. i'm not going to get into what happened. but if he messed with me, would it have been statuatory rape? i didn't say no, but i didn't actively participate either. i just layed there. but like i said, i was only 17. so did he do something wrong?
i'm not gonna get him in trouble or anything..it's too late for that. i just want some closure on this one.....

You can't sue? Too bad. Consent age is 17 years old.

Bad choice for you, not him.

Age of consent in IL is 17; you were 17 at the time and if you consented, it would not be statutory rape. If you didn't say no but just a "laid there" it is likely implied consent...how could he know he was doing anything wrong if you never objected?

You can tell him now for his future reference in his decision to boink future girlfriends considering their age, but that is about it.

In the future, a good rule would be don't let a guy take your panties off if you do not want to have sex!

17 is the age of consent in Illinois.

I feel that if you were not an active participant, that there is something wrong with the situation. I could never be with someone who is just "laying there" who is not enjoying or participating.

The age of consent in Illinois is 17, so statutory rape is out. Even if you just lay there and allowed him to do something without protest, whether you were "active" or not, that is consensual sex.

In Illinois the legal age on consent is 17. You shouldn't call rape if it isn't true. That only helps to discredit women who are truly rapped or sexually assaulted.

I'd say just think about you decisions before you make them

It sounds like you need to talk to someone about this and get all your feeling out. It really depends on what happened and what relationship you had and whether you were vulnerable or not able to make mature judgments at the time. Also there are criminal statutes that may be broken as well if you were not able to give consent. If you were drunk or on drugs and could not be expected to give consent it may be a crime. I would try and find someone to talk to about this so you can figure out your feelings.

Yes, it is statuatory rape to be with someone under the age of 18.

It is considered statuatory rape if he was 18 or older. But you should have spoken up and said "no".

If you let him, then it was not rape. Sorry that you are regretting it, next time choose abstinence. Don't sleep around anymore till marriage!
