My class is having a science fair, and the topic is: Problems where we live. Me and my partner desperately need an idea and experiment to test. We would like to experiment or solve something that is a normal everyday problem, for most people around the world! I would be thankful if i got some answers!

Produce, like fruits and vegetables is safer for you if bought locally (so it doesnt get all the car exhaust from travelling by truck) Food safety is important to everyone. You could talk to local farmers and look for data on the internet on this. Although Im a little stuck for an experiment.

There has also been a lot of news lately on how older kids (like 8 year olds) still need booster car seats. The problem would be car accidents. You could talk about the science behind that. Once again im stuck on an experiment.

Oh - an easy thing to experiment on, might be something using a pedometer. You could talk about obesity (huge problem where you live/childhood obesity) and talk about calories and healthy snacks (plus people love experiments with snacks - hence the obesity) Do some experiments walking to places, get the steps, and talk about how that relates to calories.
