Back in the good old days of the 40's a lot of us were born right at home ...I was born at home with a midwife to help my Mother.

I was born in a hospital, but my mom was so skinny they didn't think she was full term. They made her wait in the ER for a long time and by the time they got to her, my head was crowning. My mom was born at home. I still have the bed frame she was born in. My grandma was born in the house next door to the one she lives in now.
Another cool thing about my birth: There was an Vietnamese lady in the bed next to my mom. It was while the Vietnam war was going on and none of the other women would speak to her. My mom was nice to her. She didn't know many American names so she named her daughter (born a day or so after me) the same name - Tina Michelle. I always wonder where she is...

I was born in the hospital and they used me as the demonstration baby when they showed all the mothers at the hospital how to give their babies a bath.
