Its not an island but it is surrounded by water. the name is Peloponesse and it has practically everything. It is still cheap, perfect food, nice beaches and only few tourists. Land in Athens and rent a car or travel by bus or train.

I think at the end of May, the island of Paros is the perfect choise.
It won't be crowdy, great nightlife, everything will be cheap, amazing beaches... definately Paros!
OH! Do take care cause on 26-27-28th Of May it will be VERY crowdy from students (it's a national holiday) if u plan on this days try another island e.g Santorini!!!

Zante/Zakynthos. You could stay in Kalamaki where's it nice and quiet and relaxing. Then just a 15 min walk away, less in a taxi which doesn't cost all that much, is Laganas where there's a cracking party nightlife!! That way you get the best of both worlds.

If you want to go to a very untouched Greek island, you could look at Thassos, I went there 2 years ago with my wife. Its a beautiful island, the hotel we stayed at had its own private jet skies and other water sports. The night life isn't brilliant, but it depends on what you call mad nightlife. I would definitely go back again.

most of the Greek islands are great Ive been to Zante, Thassos, Kefalonia but for what your wanting i would say go with Zante like the others have said you can have the best of both worlds there relaxing but also with some party life, i stayed in Laganas which is great and the nightlife isn't in your face if you don't want it to be but it is there for the taking if you do.

crete is beautiful especially aghios nicolos and elounda, for a bit more life tou could go into malia, but that is 24 hour party party.
Santorini is also beautiful, very cosmopolitan
Rhodes, especially Lindos is fantastic for romantic roof top meals, funky bars, gorgeous beaches and simple pleasures.
I love all the greek islands but these are some of my favs
Have a wonderful time

for the reason which you elect for to examine many things and you're slightly disturbing approximately each little thing i might recommend Paros. that's not certainly one of my admired islands yet you will detect something there (in case you pass on a off-season) and you will pass to many different places from there. that's enormous island with many choises for foodstuff, there are various small villages to discover some classic delicacies. sturdy luck playstation the fees have replaced plenty!!!!

which ever island you choose it will be a great choice
if you decide to go the Aegean islands(white and blue houses, great beaches-the typical islands that tourists have in mind when they think of greek islands) i would vote for Milos
The beaches in Milos are supposed to be a geological miracle(nothing that you will find anywhere else)
if you choose to go the ionian Islands(islands full of green nature and fantastic beaches)
i would vote for Lefkada
absolutely AMAZING
