The prescription my doctor gave me is $35 a month. I'd prefer to use something a little less costly if they are as good. Any ideas?

I actually prefer the OTC brand better from vitamin world, with my first pregnancy the prescription prenatals I could not keep them down, so the doctor told me that 2 flinstone vitamins which are way cheaper than $35 a month equals out to 1 prenantal. However with my 2nd pregnancy I used the Vitamin world prenatals and didnt have any problems.

I went with the prescription because they had something to help with the iron absorbtion, and the OTC were giving me terrible headaches within a half hour of taking them. However, my insurance made them cheaper than the OTC.

When I did have the problems with the OTC, I took them less but loaded up on Total Cereal, (iron) OJ (folic acid), and lots of fruits and veggies for the vitamins, especially spinach. Also as for Total, the Raisen Bran is awesome, because the bran also helps with the other effects of iron, although I dont think iron is absorbed as well being in milk, and processed in cereal.

I was in the same predicament. I just got the CVS brand and checked them against the information I was able to find online regarding what a prenatal supplement should contain and it had at least the minimum of everything. It's low on calcium, but from what I've read so are all prenatals, so I also got the CVS brand Calcium 600+D supplement. Ideally you should be getting all the nutrients (except the added folic acid) in your normal diet anyway, the prenatal just gives you extra insurance. Good luck

definite. My OB says why waste funds via shopping for something intense priced even as OTC prenatal supplementations are in basic terms as sturdy. He stated the in straightforward words element they fluctuate on is the quantity of iron, it truly is what makes some women human beings ill even as taking it. I too took OTC prenatal supplementations.. truly nonetheless am, as i'm breastfeeding my 2 a million/2 month previous twins.

Try 2 Flinstone vitamins a day. That's what my doctor put me on with both of my children. The pre natal vitamins made me sick and constipated. Ask your doctor what he/she thinks of the Flinestones.
