Try booting the computer in Safe Mode. Turn on the PC and begin to repeatedly press the F8 key until you get a screen that offers you the Safe Mode option. When you are in Safe Mode, nothing loads but the minimal files needed to run Windows. This usually will keep the virus from loading. You should then be able to run your virus scanner to clean the PC while in Safe Mode. When done, reboot the PC to return to normal mode.

if it will let you, find where all of the copies of the virus are, then search your system, if you find a .exe you do not recognise, you may have found the original virus.
