Is it close minded to not see a movie you've no interest in?

Someone called me close minded because I didn't want to see that Mel Gibson movie about Mayans or Aztecs. Wtf? Just because I don't like certain genres or themes I'm close minded?

There are too many movies available to see them all, so you must be selective. Close minded refers to not considering new ideas. A movie is entertainment, not history or philosophy.

whenever someone tells me that, my solution is simple: i tell them if they buy the tickets, i'll go.

my GF and i go thru this a lot.

it makes no sense to waste your hard earned cash on something that is of no interest to you.

but if they pay for it...
