A few weeks ago I noticed the lcd display started to have a red tinge to it. Now, every 5 seconds or so, the screen goes so dim that it looks black. If I push in the little button that gets pushed in when you close the screen, it will come back to a bright display, but a few seconds later it will go black. Is my monitor dying?

Sounds like it is a hardware issue. But you can check the following:

Control Panel > Power Options icon
Look through there and there are settings to control when/if the screen powers down. (Unfortunately, those settings can vary depending on your card, so I can not give you a specific setting to check). Look through the settings there and see if youcan find anything which helps.

If not, you may want to start saving your pennies for a replacement....

Unfortunately, it does sound like it's dying. If it's under warranty, then call HP and get the warranty work done. If it's not, then you might be out of luck.

A tiny tiny little bit of water and a tissue artwork positive. do no longer press on the reveal too tricky. don't get it too moist. Edit: you particularly do no longer might desire to purchase those wipes. they only prey on people who don't comprehend extra useful. The wipes do in basic terms what any previous tissue will do.
