first off I love Mencia. he is hillarious. but on your point I agree that there is a major double-standard. Check out my answer to this question to see my solution. "Do White people have the right to organize for their own political interests?"

As a black person I can tell you that this is untrue. For one, I don't hate Don Imus but I do hate Carlos Mencia.
Imus may have said something stupid and racist but Carlos Mencia is a joke stealer and a bigot who pretends to be Mexican which is worse than making jokes about them. Mencia is actually part European and part South American and his first name is Ned. He gets away with those racist actions, not because black people patronize him but because the press does not publicize the significant amount of protests against him, so no one believes the black community is outraged.
Also, white people are not the only ones who get flagged on racism. I was once accused of being white because I didn't give a beggar (with alcohol breath) money; and I'm very proud of who I am.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but don't feel special.

I think the answer in your question lies in the word you used in your title. "Racism" is more of a theory than an adjective. In society, racism is described as the systematic oppression of one or more groups of people by another group of people. Those people don't have to be the majority, either! (See South African aparthaid for reference).
This oppression is discrimination at its finest on the socio-economic level. In plain English, that means that in order to be racist, you have to have money and you have to have power. Who in this country has historically had both? Whites. That is why no one else can "technically" be racist until there is a major shift of power and money to another group.
People can discriminate, prejudge, and stereotype - and those can all be done in a hurtful way - but racism has to come from the powers that be. At this time, whites are the only ones who fit the bill.
I wouldn't go as far to say that no one cares about others' offensive remarks. People DO care. Just b/c it's not on the evening news, doesn't mean that people aren't speaking out.

What you are saying is true in some respect, but there is a different approach to the subject when you use comedy... like with the Don Imus thing, what he said was way out of context. He was talking about a particular group of girls (the rutgers basketball team) and what he said was hurtful. There are thin lines drawn between whats racist and whats humor... honestly i think we all have racist tendencies - blacks, whites, hispanics, whatever- everyone has something to say about everyone. The finger should be pointed at everyone.

I think the reason that nobody hates Carlos Mencia is that he's an equal opportunity racist--meaning, he makes fun of ALL races--not just one certain group.
As for your question, I've noticed this too. I think people are still trying to punish white people for what (some of) our ancestors did to (some of) their ancestors. I wish people would just grow up and move on. I don't think we need to ever forget about slavery (it is, afterall, part of our history) but I think we do need to get over it. Yeah, it happened. Sucked that it happened, but you know what--it's history! Ancient history! Time to move on, make ourselves better people, and be happy with life!

Look being a racist isn't a privilege...It's a right. However so is running a successful business. So if your racist comment cause my business to lose cash, ya gotta go. The reason why white men seem so castrated is white women. The white race in general is so willing to hump "out of bounds" then any other race. However white men need to stop looking at white women like mothers. Most white women are super attracted to guys with color. So of course its in their own best interest to advance causes to their minority dream boat and the cost of your personal rights. Of course as white men we give our rights up willingly because were weak @ss chumps that love watching white women take advantage of our "civilized and advanced" behavior. So much that is wrong with this world today is because of women...

It isnt a racial factor until you wish it to be. It is extra a devout factor. There was once speak in parliament approximately announcing merry christmas being banned becos it would offend a few men and women. The racial ones like constructive discrimination that is approximately insurance policies supposed to advertise entry to schooling or employment aimed toward a traditionally socio-politically non-dominant organization (more commonly, minority guys or ladies of all races). To redress the consequences of beyond and present wrongful discrimination and to inspire public associations reminiscent of universities, hospitals and police forces to be extra consultant of the populace. are applicable and reasonable in case you question me. until of direction ure racist and consider there must be no equity within the activity marketplace and white men and women must get the entire well jobs with out query. EDIT Asians do not combine very good as they have got an excessively robust tradition. Its like right here at Uni, u'll constantly discover black and white men and women all combined up and Asians sticking in combination. Thats their tradition, I wouldnt preserve it towards them.Unless of direction u simply wish to.

Its because society has decided that the whites in society must always play the villain and can never be the innocent or gasp the persecuted. Instead of cow towing to political correctness we should simply say whats on our minds. Honesty in a discussion such as this is required for progress.
