Of course you can. But when your looks fade and you are overweight and hungover, you should be prepared to be humble because you will have no friends.
Proud and demanding does not win friends and it doesn't build careers (see Vivian Leigh's bio). You can be self-confident and assertive and it will go over far better. Remember, though, to let others around you shine when its appropriate.
The difference between Bill Shatner and Patrick Stewart is that proud and demanding thing. Bill was the STAR of Star Trek and he wanted all the big scenes. Patrick Stewart considered himself the lead actor and would actually suggest ways to improve a story line even if it meant he got less screen time and others got more. He mentored those around him.
People jump at a chance to work with Stewart. Can't say the same about Shatner.

No. Because good looks are not an accomplishment. Your born with them. As far as plastic surgery goes. It would be the accomplishment of the surgeon. Although it's not that great of an accomplishment either. Unless it's to help someone who was in a horrible accident.

Anybody can be proud and demanding... even ugly folks... it's nothing special.

Yes, certainly you can. But you will be only "good to look at".

It seems people with looks get away with it easier...they are received differently.
