(1)The primary ailment of Indian cricket is the lack of "never say die" spirit.
(2)They lack the "killer instinct", which is a must for any team to do well in the international arena, especially with a lot of seniors hanging around.
(3)The Indian team lacks all-rounders. Infact, the Indian team does not possess even a single all-rounder as of today. This is a very big disadvantage compared to giants like Australia (Andrew Symonds,Michael Clarke)and Newzealand (Jacob Oram,Scott Styris) and South Africa(Jacques Kallis, Shaun Pollock) to name a few!

The debacle in world cup is the past history. Presently BCCI are trying to assess the talent available by asking the selectors to select a young team for the tour of Bangladesh with a view to rebuilt the team for the future.

Indian Team has depth in Batting line up and bowling is good too if not best. But the players are not playing like a TEAM,whatever the reason.. needs to sorted out.
They have everything, excepct TEAM feelings.
They need a Captain who has leadership quality and aggressive.I am not big supporter of Ganguli but presently, he is best man to lead. You can remember seeing him on field and his reactions to teammate.A Captain does not need to perform very well but to get best from team and keep them together.
