First I must say that I'm absolutely disgusted in my fellow Americans who are using this TRAGEDY and LOSS OF HUMAN LIFE to further or promote their political ideals !!
Making this a 'political issue' is beneath decent humanity .
And it's disgusting to see people do that OVER THE DEAD CORPSES OF OUR YOUTH !!. . . .Now you know my opinion .
Anyways , a reporter has just called into a local radio show and given a very possible reason for the College and Police to have acted the way they did . He reports that there's a strong possibility that this was part of a 'love triangle' consisting of 2 Asian men and one woman . He says when police first arrived they received evidence that an Asian man had been the perp and he had been seen fleeing the scene . They even had descriptions of him and somehow knew who he was and possibly the description of his vehicle . So police pursued this individual and later found out that he was a third party not involved in the shooting, but a by-stander(cont)

who was afraid for his own life and subsequently fled to save his life . This would explain how the College and Police did not shut down the campus , because they were already led to believe that the shooter had left the campus . Regardless of how this turns out , it's much too early to BLAME ANYONE .

I am shocked by all that happened. I was VERY SHOCKED to hear the way Paula Zahn was trying to whip up anger against the Univ. as she spoke to students and to us,her audience. She APPALLED me. I will not refer to her again for news.
When something so senseless occurs, I wonder if it is possible to simply report what is being SAID and DONE....leave the speculation to each individual.
I can not imagine how to defend yourself against the act of a maniac.
I pray for the souls of the kids who were killed and for their families. I can not imagine what their loved ones are going through. Dear God, please bless them.

Nobody can truly know a situation unless they are in it, so those of us who were not there, have no idea what went on in the minds of those in charge, or the details surrounding their decisions. I've always had a bad taste in my mouth for the press who are only concerned with whether they "get it out first", or how many detail filled images they can force on the general public, who, unfortunately, become helpless to their curiosity. A perfect example of this is the tragic death of Princess Diana, seemingly caused in part by being hounded by the press, who even in death wouldn't leave her the hell alone. And the recent Anna Nicole stories, just plainly and simply became a sad and disrespectful circus.

I agree COMPLETELY! My niece goes to Va Tech, and it is absolutely a post traumatic stress for these kids. Imagine raising nice children who don't sell drugs or hang out in the bad part of town, just minding there own business, going to college, not hurting anyone, and be murdered. Think of it?
You're safer in a prison than a college campus or a High School?
How F---ed up is this country becoming?
Let's outlaw automatic weapons! NOW!
You can still have your precious 2nd Amendment, but just NO tech 9's or automatic HANDGUNS.
I wish our leaders had talked about change instead of "we're praying .." I am looking for someone with the balls to stand up act.
Texas, 1991, 23 murdered. Columbine, 12 murdered? VA Tech: 32 murdered? Who has to die before some ACTS?
gosh..I COULD GO ON FOREVER.
I still can't stop crying....god bless all the parents and families of the slain! I am praying that this will evoke CHANGE!!!!!!!!!

A tragedy like this is impossible to comprehend. There will be those that want to further the ban on selling hand guns. I can't say I disagree. There will be those that will say since he was considered a Resident Alien that we should no longer accept them into our country. There will be those that pass their anger over immigration from the Hispanics to the Asians.
This is such a tragedy. I can only pray that the families of the victims are strong and can find a way through this ordeal.

It's a SHAME what the media is doing. Granted, maybe students could have been notified sooner & in some other form (not just e-mail) - I don't think it's right that the university is being dragged through the mud for political reasons. It's just ridiculous and it's making americans look like idiots.

I also find it sad that so many are ready to blame the university for 'failure to notify'..... Sorry, but once the police secured the building and had witnesses state the perp left....the school was advising "to proceed with caution". They sent out 30,000 friggin emails etc. How do you notify that many people effectively without causing hysteria? Several students admit they thought it was just another bomb threat.............hind sight is 20/20. Probability dictates that the killer would've left. It's not the schools fault, it's not the fault of the police--there is only one LUNATIC here......and he's dead too!

Do you mean like the Democrats using the war to score Political advantage? Just exactly like they did back in the 70s?
Heck, they even did it during the Civil War, they were called Copperheads. They are NO different than they ever were.

It's astounding that folks have already started calling for the dismissal of the college president, Steeger. He's grieving along with his students and faculty. Firing the dean/president will not bring these kids back. Alos, anyone who turns this into a political "issue" should be ashamed of themselves.

it incredibly is obtrusive Cho became into pushed via a "canned" boiling resentments that exploded flashpoint right into a deadly anger; in short, Cho became into in basic terms "nuts". The complicated actuality keeps to be right it incredibly is, like a superb type of different banal violent mindless acts of homicide, the place the gunman kills himself--we are left in ordinary terms to invest and ask your self the reason for what surpassed off and why did it ensue in the 1st place. And we are in a position to for months speculate what went on.........

I agree...people should not jump to conclusions until the entire story is out. It is always easy in hindsight to point out things that could have been done better. If mistakes were made, people should be held accountable, but not until the investigation is completed. As for the handgun laws....the serial numbers were filed off the guns, so apparently, they were obtained illegally.
