You can have as many browsers as you want and neither will it slow down ur pc nor ur internet connection.

You can continue using firefox, while let them use IE 7

If your willing to compromise li'l bit(majority wins lol) , let them have IE 7 as the default browser if it isn't already.

Meaning whenever you Go to website links thru' the softwares u've installed or want to open existing internet files on ur hard disk , they would by default open in a browser u've chose to be as the default browser.

Here's how you set IE 7 as your default browser...

Open IE and click on Tools-> Internet options -> Programs tab-> At the bottom u'll see a box which says ' Internet explorer should check if its the default browser' . Just check that checkbox and hit OK. Restart IE 7 and it'll prompt you to set it as your default browser.

Here's how you set FF as your default browser:

Open FF and click on Tools-> Options-> Main tab ...at the bottom u'll see a system defaults section . underneath u'll find the box against which it says 'Always check to see if firefox is your default browser' . Check that box and hit OK. Now when you restart firefox, it'll prompt you to set it as ur default browser if it isn't already.

Firefox and IE can coexist just fine. It's just different versions of Internet Explorer that don't get along, i.e. you can't have both IE 6 and IE 7 on the same computer. (And that's an installation issue, not a system resources issue - i.e. if you could somehow manage to *install* both versions without the one overwriting the other, then you could run both without any trouble.)

I would suggest leaving IE 7 as the default browser, because anything else is an exercise in frustration - there are lots of brain-dead websites out there that will default to IE even if you have Firefox set as your preferred browser.

You can have both...I do both at work and at home. I refuse to use IE anymore and use Firefox exclusively. I have no problems whatsoever.

As many as you want. It won't slow down your internet at all unless you have all browsers open at once.

If you also want privacy, you could boot and run http://pclinuxos.com or any of the 310 at http://livecdlist.com or the hundreds at http://distrowatch.com and save your mail on a USB stick for portability!
