any movie will do, as long as they can forget for a few hours about there own miserable and totally boring lives!!!

People go to the movie to escape their lives. The general masses either want to laugh and forget their troubles with a comedy, or feel better about their life through seeing a horror/tragedy. Below that, they want an adventure to be entertained.
Most will say that they love a good "love story" or an "inspirational movie" but the box office receipts disprove that theory in nearly every case. If given the choice between "Disturbia" (about a serial killer) or "A Peaceful Warrior" or even the ole classic "A Love Story" they are going to chose the say one of the latter two, but pay premium admission price to the see the first selection.

there are so many different types of people who like so many different types of movies. i don't think one type of movie is liked by most.

Unfortunately...
People like stupid movies...
They usually like movies that you don't have to think!!! Or that you can easily understand... specially in my country (Brazil)
here, my friend's favorite kind of films is, undoubtedly comedy and horror...
thank goodness I love ACTION and SCI FI / FANTASY movies...

I hope people like FUNNY MOVIES the most!!!!!!
Unfortunately I see to many horror movies advertised. maybe this is why some people just flipp out and shoot others...?

action, scary, comedies, thriller.... i think people mostly like d most !!! its fun while watching these types of movies

i personally like scary movies the best, something that keeps me on the edge of my seat, action movies too
