It's rediculous to say that we'll take guns away from the legal people and somehow that's going to stop the criminals, totally rediculous.

Have you read the latest updates? The serial nubers on the weapons were scraped off, which means that they were obtained illegally. Ban all handguns, and there will still be handguns available through illegal means.

I've owned handguns for a good many years. I don't have a permit to carry, so I don't carry. I've also gotten very upset a some people over the years, but going home to get a gun never occurred to me. Most legal owners share this type of attitude and sense of responsibility. Why punish law-abiding Americans for the actions of a few whack jobs and the actions of criminals?

Remember, it's not the gun that does the killing. Saying guns are responsible for people getting killed is like saying spoons made Rosie O"Donnell fat.

Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my handgun.

I say quit trying to take away freedoms of Americans. It is written in the Constitution that it is legal to bear arms. We need to quit taking away freedoms for the illusion of safety.

Its not the guns that did the killing. I know its a cliche, but guns don't kill people...crazy people with guns, or knives, or axes, or chainsaws kill people. Hell crazy people with cars kill people. Is it now time to start banning these other items because some crazy bastard snapped and decided it was a good time to start killing people? I don't freaking think so.

Responsible people who know how to use a gun and respect guns and don't want to kill anybody don't kill people with guns. Irresponsible people and those with the knack for snapping under pressure kill people. Don't blame the gun, lets put the blame in the correct place for once and call the spade a spade...that spade of course being the crazy kid who decided that thirty-some people should die. Thanks and have a nice day.

I say -- you are mistaking law abiding citizens with weapons with the criminals and nut jobs with weapons.

A law abiding citizen owns a gun and keeps it secure, and uses it appropriately. Complying with the law is not our issue.
The criminals and the nut jobs with the guns are the ones we need to worry about - and I doubt they are going worry about complying with nonsense monthly inspections.

What happen in Virginia is sad, and terrible but it has nothing to do with me as a law abiding licensed gun owner having a weapon. It has to do with the lack of moral fiber, personal accountability, and decline over all of people in this country. Even the damned immigrants are coming over here and falling apart!

There will always be lunatics who go around the law, get guns, and kill people. How many criminals do you think would let the police in for a monthly inspection?

I believe the opposite should have happened. The old unoffical slogan for S&W was S&W made everyone equal. Nobody sucessfully shoots up a U.S. police station because of that.
