This man was not an American citizen, but only here on a Visa. He was a Korean alien, right? So how does a non-American here on a visa get access to lawfully buying guns in our country?

I checked out this website:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18148802/?GT1=9246

It clearly states that Cho Seung Hui had receipts for the guns he purchased. What gun shop sold him the guns, and why would our government allow non-citizens to buy guns when they're only here on a visa?

Whose fault is this?

Hey everyone. Please do not state that I am stirring up racial divide as this is not the case whatsoever. What I am clearling distinguishing is that if one is not a lawful U.S. citizen but here on a visa only, i.e., one should not be able to buy guns in this country.

We do have enough going on with our own American whack jobs slaughtering one another. We don't need outsiders from other countries buying guns in our country. It just opens the doors as we have seen time and time again, to repeated tragedy.

Race is not the issue in this matter, so don't bring it up anymore.

Fault the governments for allowing immigrants in and if we do they should have no rights for purchasing guns and really ream them on their taxes maybe 80% that would help! Get the INS working they are the biggest slackers on any government payroll!

This is the state of Virginia law on owning weapons for everyone not just for aliens.
Most states require an alien to live in the USA for 90 days and have a valid green card.
He may have had receipts but the serial numbers were filed off. More to the point he got the guns with no serial numbers or this was a complete setup from the word go. If he got them with no serial numbers it goes to show that criminals can get guns when law abiding citizens cannot.

Illegally, if he was a green card holder. Criminals don't follow laws, that includes gun control laws. Many illegal aliens in California have the same machine guns that are used by insurgents in Iraq.

Murders increased after guns were banned in Washington D.C..

"In general, non-immigrant aliens are forbidden to possess any firearms or ammunition. But there is a big exception for a legal alien who ...is in possession of a hunting license or permit lawfully issued in the United States"
"Green-card holders and immigrant aliens who do not yet have their green card are both okay under federal law, although many people (including gun dealers, law enforcement officers, etc.) are not aware of the distinction or the hunting license exception, and erroneously think that either you have a green card, or you can't have guns"

It is the gun store fault because if the gun store did not sell this gun to anybody without a license, this tragedy would not happen. Now, do not try to stir up racial conflict just because he is Asian because the shooter can be anybody, it could be white persons like the Columbine tragedy or could be anybody.
Usually if a person is a quiet or a loner, he is isolated and have no friends. Because he does not have any friends or nobody would befriend with him, he becomes angry, depressed, upset, easily influenced by negative thought or dark power (satan) and he has nothing to lose since he has nobody that likes or befriends with him.
If you see somebody who needs friends, do not ignore him or her, because you could save his/her life and other people lives. Just befriend with the loner person and you could save a lot of people.

the same way anybody who wants a gun. They could either get it off the street or go a gunshop with a valid id and a clean record.

I fault the Congress who refuse to pass a strict gun control law; they are afraid of the NRA.

He came here since he was since primary school or sth. In my opinion, it's THAT PERSON's fault. he was addicted to computer games-violent ones ( many who are loners tend to do so as a researches said). Also, PLACE where let him to have one. BUT, in the end, it seems like he was possessed by evil spirit than anything else. How can a person who was so calm, quiet and all just turns into a muderer in one day? I am not much of a religious person in evil spirit way, but I do now....crippy, dude

They said he was a permanent resident of the US.

My mom and dad (European) lived in the US for over 30 years as permanent residents before they became citizens. There is very little difference, besides not being able to vote, between what citizens and permanent residents can doa nd buy.

everything is hear say at the moment. that article says he MAY have been carrying the reciepts in a backpack, but it also says that the serial numbers on the gun were filed off...sounds to me like the media is just trying to get some "breaking" news.

Wrong, he had a green card(resident visa). Do you know how many people have green cards? They have the same rights as Americans except for voting.
