If it is determined that a gun shop owner sold this nutcase a handgun illegally, do you think he should lose his store? I do, whoever sold this whackjob a handgun should be held responsible for the damage it's caused.

There's already laws for that too...
You don't read much do you?

Yahoo's story...

One law enforcement official has said that the gunman's backpack contained a receipt for a March purchase of a Glock 9 mm pistol. The gunman held a green card, meaning he was a legal, permanent resident, federal officials said. That meant he was eligible to buy a handgun unless he had been convicted of a felony.

This means there was NO indication that he was a "wacko" and everything was done properly.

Any merchant who sells a gun illegally should not only be subject to seizure of their assets (since they are proceeds of a crime), They should also serve jail time as an accessory to whatever crime was committed with that weapon.

A hard line approach to those dealing in illegal arms is needed to prevent more illegal arms from getting out on the street.

If a gun store sells a gun "illegally" it is already a serious crime with dire consquences. I even agree he may be liable however only if it was an illegal sale. If it was according to the law, then no. Fix the law.

Gun stores are not responsible for stupid people. They do the background checks. They should not have to ask about you mental health during the purchase.

Guns are too easy to get hold of. How making the price of bullets $5000 each. You'd think twice about shooting randomly then wouldn't you?!
