The problem is usually not with the windows or the operating mechanisms. Often times this condition is simply caused by pollen, dirt and tree sap getting in the window run channels.

The first thing to do is to lower the window about 1/4 way down and clean both sides of the glass where they slide against the rubber strips. Then lower the window all the way down and use a spray window cleaner to clean the rubber grooves that the window slides up and down in. Lastly after the window and the run channels are clean, spray a silicone lubricant into the channels. You can buy the silicone lubricant at any parts store. You don't have to overdue it, just enough to lubricate the rubber strips. That will probably fix the problem without taking it to a mechanic.

You're probably going to the shop. Unless you can pop off interior panel. The pros use a tool that looks a little like the flat end of a crowbar to find the liitle clips, and pop them out (it's not that tough). Then all you need (probably) are a couple of used motors from a U-Pull it junk yard. Get a pal to help ya out, you can probably blame any major damage on him!
