Yes, but freedom does come with a price....war, taxes....etc. Anyway you look at it I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here.

No. On one hand we do get by with a lot more then most people in other countries. But it seems that even our small but important "freedoms" are slowly being taken away. I understand you have to set rules or else there would be anarchy. I don't smoke and I do not let people smoke around my daughter in closed places but the fact that you can't seem to smoke outside unless your in a field away from civilization is extreme. I also enjoy a drink no and then. But I don't see people protesting to strive to get drunk drivers off the street. So I think we should try harder to pick our battles.

we have freedone to
vote
religion/or not
to work
have kids
live where we want
drive what we want
But with every thing we have cost the price of a life.
I beleive when our ancestors fought in war years ago, they fought for us Americans, they fought for our "freedom, (listed above)" but now they are not fighting for us anymore.
I love the Idea of being a free country but I don't like the war we are in now.
I can't understand how people can be killing eachother in our own country and people killing eachother outside our country. We take this freedom for granted and there is no respect in the country anymore, but that is freedom.

No!,it's not free,at least not for any real Americans! Freedom is still expensive. It still costs money. It still costs blood. It still calls for courage and endurance, not only in soldiers, but in every man and woman who is free and who are determined to remain free, Not like some people who come here just by crossing the border through a hole in the fence.

Are you kidding? Last week, I had to pay $10 for parking.(lol)
I think that the last 6 years have slowly taken away our basic freedoms. If you have a president that gives not even a second thought to forcing people to remove their shoes at an airport in the interest of "national security" we have a problem.

because freedom is an ambiguous term... some will feel not free and some will. I think there should be freedom but with certain lines drawn and rules. Freedom mean different things for people, some people think that being able to use derrgatory terms is freedom. Some think being able to strive to gain is freedom... I dont know...?

more free than third world countries, but not free we were meant to be. People vote for the presidents does not count, electoral votes do. The govt creates laws and people have no choice but to suck it up and deal with it. Freedom of speech is too limited, i could go on and on...Hard to say there is freedom of religion when christianity is pushed down everyones throat in the US.

I think it's a free country, but countries like England, Spain, and Italy have more freedom.

If it was free, then taking things without pay isn't a crime.
Or I guess, there's freedom of speech, but sometimes I think the authority tries to take us down despite the whole "freedom of speech" thing.

Used to be. I grew up in the 80's and used to do many things I cannot do today. We used to be able to go to a park and play baseball without a permit, now all the parks where I live are fenced in. We used to be able to ride in the back of a pickup truck. We used to be able to ride in a car without seatbelts. We used to be able to make up our own minds. Its a couple of sue happy idiots that ruin it for the majority.
