So far, on here, I have seen speculation that the gunman was a muslim, an Asian, a jealous boyfriend, a lunatic and now that he might have been into violent video games. And one of the earliest comments I saw last night was speculating about who should be sued for what happened and made no mention of regret/sorrow for the victims and their friends and families.
Personally, I would rather see far less speculation about the killer until the facts are known and more compassion for the victims. Then more consideration about how such a tragedy might be avoided in the future.

It's sad 32 young people died at the hands of someone who was very miserable and want to take revenge, unfortunately, on innocence people. Parents sending their children to college to earn a degree through difficult training by the hands of professionals, whom some were killed. We can't blame everything on the video games, there are choices in life good, bad you choose. But I will say this the bible says in II Timothy 3:1-2 This know also that in the last days perilous (dangerous-unsafe) times shall come. (2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blastphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankfull, unholy.
Lovers of their own selves: selfish,
Coveteous - greedy self seeking,
Boasters: braggart, pretentious, self-glorifying, arrogant, egotistic, conceited,
Proud - disgraceful, outrageous,
Blastphemers - railings, speak evil of.
Read the II Timothy 3 the whole chapter it will give you a sense of the things that are happening and to come on the earth. If we need anything it will be prayers of every individuals to pray for one another. Believe it or not there is a God and he sent a remedy and that's through His son Jesus. We need the Lord Today!

It really makes no difference if he was, all the psychs in the country will try and figure out the why now, and you can bet they will come up with all the reasons why he did it, but it wont stop the killing, this kind of killing is only going to escalate, history has proven that, mankind truly has become a violent and murderous species.

No. The problem is there is a real shortage of care in this country. The young man was troubled and ignored and so 32 people are now dead. It is unbelievable that an individual could have that many emotional tangles within and no one even noticed until he came with the gun.
Just plain sad
Isn't amazing what people will do when they feel alone?

My theory is he got into a tiff or in a love triangle and it got out of hand.....and then when he had 2 hours to contemplate that he would rather die than go to jail he took as many people with him as possible
--------------
350 LT1 is the only one so far that is on the right path....stop blaming video games and guns and see what made the dude snap in the first place
that is all

I don't think playing video games can be pointed to for the sole reason for this persons "violent" rampage. Although, it could be one of MANY contributing factors to his over-all psyche.
Stress from Classwork, friend(s), problems with family member(s), personal relationship(s), and many others can contribute to stress.
We ALL have different ways of dealing with stress (some do it BETTER than others). Meditation, exercise, drinking, talking to friends/family, playing video games, using drugs (and many others) are ways some of us relieve stress.
Unfortunately, not all of us have the ability to think clearly through our stresses. These stresses can further clouded by some of the very things you can use to relieve said stress. Drinking, use of drugs, playing video games, talking to family/friends, the availability of firearms (and of course many others).
Truthfully may never truly know or even understand what may make a person commit such acts.

that is a huge generalization
we have an exchange student from S Korea right now... he is a loner as well, has trouble understanding the english language therefore doesnt talk to people... he just sits and reads books.... we can't even carry on simple conversations with him because he doesnt try to 'live in english'... what is scary still, is that he wants to go to virginia in the fall for full time school!
so perhaps this person was just lonely, and sad and became angry because they could not change themselves to fit a culture so different than their own? we cannot generalize in a single area tho.. it could have been many things

I think it's too facile and easy to blame a situation like this on video games. Blame it on video games all you want, it wasn't a video game that did this, it was a human being.

It is possible but he was an Asian and Asians put a lot of empasis on success and it might have been just too difficult for him dealing with learning in English so he went off of his rocker
