Growing up sucks.

It's because when you're 5, 1 year of your life is 1/5th of your lifetime, but now when you're 40, 1 year is only 1/40th of your life, so it's a lot less of a time period in comparison. I guess it's the same with summers, as a kid they seemed endless, but now as an adult, one summer is just a minute part of what you've already lived.

It has something to do with age.

A one year old child's day lasts about 480 hours.

An 80 year old persons day lasts only about 6 hours.

I developed a formula (call it Bob's theory of ageitivity) when I was 35. Please give me credit if you use it with your friends...thanks.

The formula is: 20x 24hours/age=hours.

That's why time flies by quickly as we get older.

I'm at an age now where the whole week is a blur!!!

Hope that helps you.

How many hours are in your day?

Your concept of time changes. When you were 8 years old, for example, 3 months were a significant part of your life, as you probably only remember from the age of 2-3 on. Three months out of 48 months is quite a bit As you grow older (and older), 3 months becomes a rather insignificant piece of the total months that you have lived.

I was wondering the same thing. Time does seem to last forever as a child, as adults we never have enough. =)

Your perceived time rate increases as you approach the singularity of death.

Adults have more pressure, responsibilities than children. Even with 24 hrs in a day, it's not enough to complete your tasks sometimes. Kids don't have to do anything but live.

Because as a child, a single day was a larger proportion of the entire life you had lived so far.

A child that is 1 month old... a day is 3% of their entire lifetime.

A grown up that is 20 yrs old... its .01369%

I sincerely believe that as you get older time flies so fast. It seems like just yesterday it was Christmas and we are almost in summer time! WOW

we got to take summers off & play all day which lasted until about 9pm. Now, we have to work no matter what season it is, unless you are a teacher & some of them work in the summer too. I miss those childhood summers.

Children have no perception of time..20minutes seems like forever, so a whole summer? Wow....As adults, anything fun seems to go by fast..

When you were a child, your "entire life" comprised of very few years, so each bit of time seemed much longer. Now, that same span of time seems much smaller relative to your "entire life."
