So, why all the phony rationalizations about owning guns. Handguns are built to kill other people, pure, and, simple.

Really want to go ahead and post a link about that, then again most of the firearms that are used in murders arent exactly legally owned are they, most of them are reported as stolen before they are used in any type of crime. Handguns are built to kill other people, wow great realization on your part, so are slingshots, rifles, and shotguns. I would rather own a gun legally, than be at the mercy of those that have guns illegally. Then again you probably think if they banned all guns it would be like the end of the of that Family Guy episode where Brian and Stewie join the army where democracy magically appeared in Iraq, all the guns in the US would just disappear. Ban guns and take them away from registered users, and let the unregistered guns remain on the streets, smart call I like that one. Then again the shotguns I have wouldnt be taken away, because nobody knows I have them except the people I have been hunting with, same for the rifles.

The phony rationalizations are based on a convincing slippery slope argument that SOME restrictions will lead to hunters having their guns taken away by an oppressive nanny state.

Clarification - HANDguns are designed to be easily concealed.

I am not 'for' gun ownership, but I respect the constitutional rights of others. No matter how outdated I believe the ammendment to be, it still exists. Handguns, however, are not a part of the constitution, and I think it would be a very good place to start. A shotgun is a more effective way to protect your home, and a rifle is what is used in hunting. So stop the insanity of the war on drugs, and focus on the war on handguns.

You're right, let's just ban firearms and make it so only the bad people can obtain them. If they are willing to kill, then illegally obtaining a "firearm" (not firarm) shouldn't be against their moral code.

I am not to sure here the logic arises to be honest. If you look at international statistics the nations with the strictest gun controls also boast the lowest death tolls due to firearms.

Laws are made to be broken make it harder to get a gun legally so the gun traffic for illegal guns goes into business.

for the same reason that you put more troops in a failing war. Or the same reason as throwing more money at a problem. Makes NO sense
