I have cable service but they cant get it going because of the wiring to my apt. Is there anything I can do? The apts advertise that they are "cable ready"

The cable co said it was the wiring that runs from the livingroom to the bedroom that was bad. Is the apt responsible for this, since it says cable ready?

First contact the apt. manager and tell him that you need to know where the cable ready hookups are. Usually they are rectangular shaped plates on the wall about 13 inches off the floor. They will have what looks like a metal bolt sticking out of the face plate for screwing the cable on.

If there isn't any, then the cable installer will have to drill holes through the exterior walls to run the cable, and you will need the apt. managers permission for that.

Usually the cable will be attached to the outside of the house and the hole through the wall will be as close as possible to the spot you want to place the t.v.

If you live on the ground floor, and the installer has access under the apt. The cable can be run to the exact spot you have your TV and brought into the house by drilling a hole in the floor.

Good luck with it.

If you can provide written proof, then the owner is responsible to provide the wiring to make the ad correct, if not then it is fraud and you can recover your expenses in small claims court. However, you may find yourself moving shortly thereafter. Good luck with this

If you have it in writing the leaser is responsible to furnish the advertised amenity.
