I used to think I couldn't live without my cell phone but as it turns out I can. I gave up my cell phone last year in June and I'm actually glad I don't have it anymore.

No i could not. I feel naked without it. If i forget it when i leave, I go home and get it. What if something would to happen to me or a family member and they cant get a hold of me or I cant get a hold of them. I hate talking on the phone but if it is there I do like it

My cell phone bill kept getting more expensive every month. And everywhere I went the stupid thing would ring interrupting whatever I was doing.I don't want to talk on the phone while I'm driving or shopping or at the library or pumping gas or at the doctors office or where ever I may be.Especially when my husband calls wanting to argue and people are starring at me because they know what we're talking about. He liked to call me to ask stupid questions like "Where's the remote control for the tv?" I would say,"I don't know, did you look for it?" and he would say "Yea,I can't find it where is it?" and I would say "I told you I don't know I haven't been home all day how would I know?" and he would yell "Well I want it and I can't find it now tell me where the hell is it?" and the argue would continue until I got totally disgusted and hung up and turned my phone off so he couldn't call back.
This was happening far too often and I wasn't getting any peace so I paid Cingular $150.00 early termination fee and cancelled my contract with them. I like the idea of "Out of sight out of mind" and the phone made that impossible to achieve. That was 2 years ago and I haven't wanted another phone since.
Just to let you know the final blow came while I was gone getting finger printed for security clearance to do day care work.My phone was off and I didn't know it so when I got home an hour early before my husband had to leave to go to work he yelled and was really pissed off because he couldn't reach me to tell me he had to go to work and needed the car.He couldn't understand why my phone was off and eventhough I told him "It only takes you 10 minutes to get to work and you have an hour before it starts,so why are you so mad?" "I just forgot to turn it on I didn't know it was off." Nothing I said mattered and I was tired of the phone causing me grief so I ended it.

Yes, I would like it at all but I have had a cell phone and I have not had one. Its like when you have one it seems like you need it all the time. When you dont have one, you really do not need it. Its wierd

Nope, it is my Internet access away from work, and my only means of communicating with family/friends who is away.
