There is an old saying: "People can't smell their own stink!" (homogenized for public use) Everyone wants the best for themselves, but few people are willing to take the responsibility to leave an area as clean (or cleaner) than they found it. It is very easy to forgive ourselves for small transgressions in the interest of time savings or small emergancies. Rest rooms rarely contain the means to do the neccesary cleaning since these items are often stolen or vandalized. Some people were never given the skills to be considerate of each other, and some simply don't care. I am simply grateful for those who are, and must be willing to clean up "before myself" when others aren't.

It bothers me too. When I go in some public restrooms I think to myself"Damn it looks like someone stood on the seat and just let them selves go".thats how it seems to me..I do not know why people are this way..But all we can do is be respectful and do the right thing and mabey one day just one day you will experience a comfortable bathroom visit without having a pillow of toilet paper protecting you!!! I feel ya!! Good Luck!!

At least from my experiences while travelling, I've seen
families with children let them destroy public restrooms
in ways I won't mention here. I think they're a lot of the
culprits.

I once saw this written on a bathroom wall: "If you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be neat and wipe off the seat." Very wise words. Too bad so many people are absolute swine and act like they were raised in a barn.

It's my experience that people never take care of something that's not their own..because it's not theirs and they feel like they don't have to care.
