Guess freedom of speech is just a slogan, huh?

By the way, their wins at the Grammys hold far more political and industry clout than the CMTs. And their plan to disband was made over a year ago...so they have not been forced to do so.

Someone spoke their mind....the public didn't like it, and chose not to support their records. So what? Let it go. Find another scapegoat...old news...

The Dixie Chicks have huevos and I love them. If more Americans had their grit, America would be a better place to live. Political discourse is the backbone of democracy. Bravo that they place democracy ahead of money.

what does "jump the shark" mean? i do believe the dixie chicks did themselves in royally with their big mouths. never could stand them. they think the president somehow shut down their career. they have yet to figure out that it was their own big mouths and what they say has consequences. their fans dumped them and they dont get it. we should boycott their music just on the fact that they are stupid! their vulgar film was just confirmation.

stony, dixie chicks and imus, to completely different situations.

They won a Grmmmy from people that never even heard of them and will never listen to them. Sort of Like Pete Rose Getting voted into the hall of Hockey Fame. They suk.

Those same "fans" turned their backs on these ladies because they spoke truth to power and refused to bow down to the hicks of this country. I think they're just fine going double platinum and winning grammys. If some turd stomper in Alabammy don't like it because "they done insultified the pres-dent" I think they'll still be able to sleep at night.

Ironically, the same people who criticize the Dixie Chicks are the same knuckleheads who support Don Imus.

No... when we leave Iraq and it falls into the hands of the radical Shiite Islamists.... they will be vindicated for opposing the invasion. Saddam may have been a nut job, but he did not support terrorism like Iran (Shiite muslim) does.

That's funny, a month ago, people were accussing them of "going political" to boost their careers when they won all those Grammy awards

Yeah, double platinum album, sold-out concerts, popular documentary, handful of Grammys: the Chicks are clearly struggling from the disdain of a few redneck warmongering baby-killers.
