I bought one, primarily for Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. As of now those games are playstation exclusives. There's also a rumor that SquareEnix is remaking Final Fantasy VII for the PS3. The PS3 is the most powerful system on the market, and it has a built in blu ray dvd drive. When factoring in the price of the Xbox360's HD DVD drive, which has to be purchased SEPARATELY, the two systems are about equal in price. Plus there are just more games coming for the PS3 that I want than there are for the Wii or the Xbox360. That's what it came down to for me, the games.

The PlayStation 3 is not just a gaming console but an entire entertainment center.....It can play PS3, PS2, PS1 games, it can show movies in true video and audio HD, it also comes with an Internet browser for surfing the web....600$ doesn't seem like that much after you factor in all of those things

I will only if it ever gets any exclusive games worth playing. I don't give a crap about blu ray or surfing the net with a game console; only games. Sony botched ps3 launch has cost them valuable market share and is the main reason they lost and are continuing to lose some of their most coveted exclusivity game contracts. There is no reason to waste 600 dollars on it if all the same games can be played on the 360.

I am, and I did. Why? Because of the games. I think the Final Fantasy series is the greatest RPG series, and only the PS3 is getting it, so I have to get the PS3. I think God of War I and II are two of the greatest action games ever made, and God of War III is only for the PS3, so I have to get the PS3. I don't watch a lot of movies, so getting a stand-alone Blu-ray player is out of the question, but the PS3 includes one, so that's nice.
To truly enjoy being a gamer, I have to have all 3 systems so that's why I got the PS3.

Rich buggers who have missed xbox 360....here in india...its alomost half the price....i think PS3 is serioulsly overpriced...i hope sony ppl come to their sense and just take off 20% of the price.

the simple answer to this jessica-apart from the fact the ps3 is the most powerful games console on the market it also incorperates a blu-ray player (a standalone model costs between £700-£1100) so for the £600 i paid for mine i got a bargain-the blu-ray plus a damn good games machine plus internet access plus 7.1 dolby hd surround sound-i am well happy with my investment.
