Apr. 22, a day to celebrate the environment. The first Earth Day was organized in 1970 to promote the ideas of ecology, encourage respect for life on earth, and highlight growing concern over pollution of the soil, air, and water. Earth Day is now observed in 140 nations with outdoor performances, exhibits, street fairs, and television programs that focus on environmental issues. Savetheearth4us@yahoogroups.com has some great ideas for promoting Earth Day

Earth Day is also called Environmental Day. Its celebrated on June 5th.It is a day which is celebrated to envoke our love to nature, to remind us not to hurt our mother earth by indulging in activities like cutting of trees, releasing harmful gases into the atmosphere etc. Also, as a token of our love, we plant trees on that day... I hope this much is enough for the time being...

Actually Earth Day means nothing to me anymore. The same people that are out organizing Earth Day activities around here are smoking cigarettes and then tossing the butts out of their car windows the next day. I've become very cynical about Earth Day. We all care about the enivronment when its convenient for us, but we don't when it's not.

plant a flower, don't litter, if you see trash, pick it up.
Earth Day is a day that everyone should do 1 tiny thing to help earth, if its car pool for one day or everyone plant a tree. Even if you just step back and look at the living things all around.
I think if everyone did 1 tiny thing each year, we could see a difference.
Everyday should be earthday

It means that Gaylord Nelson knew years ago what Al Gore knows now and has been trying to make others realize.

It a good time to go out and plant the trees the kids bring home from school. Three kids, three trees. I need a bigger yard. LOL

Earth Day means my birthday. And I'm mad it takes my glory. Other than that, it's a day made to pacify the hippies and liberals.

although we don't really celebrate it in my country, but i think it's the day we remember how precious our planet is, i think that this day should be made into EARTH YEAR,that's because we should always remember our planet, and be aware of the insults we make to it every single day...
