Mine was when I worked at a grocery store called Delchamps while I was putting myself through college. The friends I made there are still some of my best friends and thats been 12 years ago. Also, you could drink and still go to work and as long as your register till added up, no one really cared.

Making hand tossed pizzas, at a restaurant I use to work and I was bartender at. They were done there in front of everyone at the bar. People loved my pizzas, it was fun to entertain folks there.

** I was a chasier at Delchamps too. I lived in Florida, I was fresh out of high school. They were the highest paying grocery store in town. I use to love doing the codes on the produce for some reason... 4011 is the bananas, not sure why I remember that 12 years later.

I worked in a convenience store for 23 years and had some fun times there until I was the only one doing any of the work. The two jobs I have now are loads of fun. One is in retail and I get to do paperwork and meet with people and talk to adults for three days. My other job is THE best. I get to baby sit my three granddaughters for four days. What could be better than being a part of their lives?!

I worked for a quailery for a while when I was a teenager. It was a very small operation, they would raise quail then freeze them to be fed to zoo animals and animals ant Wildlife Refuge places. Sometimes, we would have to make out of state deliveries, but because it was such a small operation (only six employees) and I was the most responsible person that worked there, I would get to take the bosses car to deliver dead quail. I once got pulled over and the highway patrol guy started searching the truck. Imagine his shock to find 400 dead birds. LMAO

I was a manager of a copy shop

for the first 6 months , while I was still dreaming and thinking I was gonna own part of the store and or the chain of them we were gonna make.

I enjoy the wrok and the decision making. When the boss /owner bought a BMW from the profits, and I still had no health insurance or profit sharing, I realized I wasn't gonna get anything.

Groundsman on a tree service in Florida. We ate oranges off trees, saw women sunbathing and dressing in open windows, got tons of fresh air and best of all was paid $20 an hour under the table. This was back in 1986. In relative dollars, I still don't bring home that much.

Bear Builder at Build a Bear Workshop. I LOVED it there. No one was EVER grouchy there. You could go to work in the worst mood and 15 minutes later you were having the time of your life. The people who worked there were great, too. NO gossiping. Everyone was cheerful and outgoing and playing with stuffed animals and happy children all day was a blast. I always said that I couldnt believe that someone would actually pay me to come to work and play all day.

I wish they had one in my area now. I would SO go back to work for them.

Pizza Hut in the early 80s. All my friends worked there and the managers like to party. We'd take turns covering each other so we could all see the band playing at the club up the street. We'd party after we closed the restaurant - we did our work, but we also enjoyed ourselves.
