They're almost one in the same.

Scum of the Earth more times than not.

For someone to choose to go into politics or choose to go into law, you have to be of low moral fiber to begin with.

Politicians

Our government is supposed to have three branches but somewhere along the line the lawyers have merged two and some times all three under the lawyer umbrella. So you have lawyers making up the laws, lawyers enforcing the laws and lawyers signing and making them the law of the land. Now what controls are on these people? None!!!!! They have put controls on everything and everybody but lawyers. So lawyers, politicians, judges and sometimes Presidents have all the same respect in my book, ZERO.

On here, people seem to think Politicians are Gods if they are in their party. None of these people are good if they are in Washington. They have to step on so many other people to get elected, they can't be trusted. That's why I hate when people try to talk about the moral party - there is no moral party that will ever be elected again. Lawyers sometimes defend the innocent and sue those that cause turmoil. So only about 75% of lawyers are bad.

It's a difficult one to call. It's worth remembering there is a significant overlap, since in most countries, more politicians have qualifications in law than anything else.
They're both generally a bunch of wankers, but at least you get to choose if you employ a lawyer or not.

There are good and bad lawyers and politicians, but I think if you took a vote, the general public would say lawyers are worse. I could be wrong.

Tough call...as most politicians are lawyers.

Lawyers are a necessity in our society. But the laws of defence are very corrupting.

I think that 90% of politcians are lawyers so it's hard to answer that.

The thing is that everybody hates politicians but they usually re-elect their own representatives because they bring home the bacon.

And everybody hates lawyers except when they need one to represent them.

The lawyers and politicians that people hate represent other people. So people really hate other people because they are in competition with them. Maybe we shouldn't expect it to be any other way.

That's tough... but considering that most of the politicians (not a scientific assessment) appear to be from the legal profession - I'd have to pick lawyers.
