You are 11 years old, which means that you are not even a teenager, your body will start stretching and it will need resources, where do you think its gonna get them from?
Automatically your metabolism will increase to a point that you will burn more calories than you can take, therefore getting slimmer.
Now about being pretty...well it is overrated, if you look at magazines and TV and compare yourself to those people, you will never be happy with what you see in the mirror, they pick the best looking people for TV and magazines, its natural beauty most of the time.
Like someone said before "Do not read beauty magazines they will only make you feel ugly"
Instead try to build your character, learn to be assertive, confident, build your self-esteem and know that you are special...whether you are big, small, thin, fat, white, black, red, purple or ... it doesn't matter.
What matters is you as a person. Hope this helps, although it may not be what you were expecting to read, it is good advice.
Take care.

The best thing to do is get active. It will help you lose weight and keep you in shape so you have good habits as you get older. See if you can join a softball team or something like that, or just take walks, run around with friends. Don't worry about it too much as long as you are healthy. Don't diet! Watch what you eat so far as don't binge on food and talk to your parents about eating healthier options, but dieting is hard and most of the time uneffective. Don't be discouraged if you can't get the weight off right away, it takes time for everyone.

Baby Doll, being pretty doesn't mean you have to be thin. Now if you are wanting to lose a little weight, well don't worry about that right now either. You body is going through changes and in no time you will be getting taller and you will wonder "what happened?" Now if you want to get healthier (which we ALL could do) walking is a good form of doing it. And not snacking on junk is another. One time I stopped drinking soda for 3 weeks and I lost 5pounds. So I know it works. But I like soda, soooo.. lol Don't worry honey, everything is going to be fine.

At 11 you have a lot of growing to do. You final body shape likely bears no relation to what it is now.
Take a look at your parents. Which one do you follow? If your mum is overweight then it suggests that weight is likely to be a problem for you but by no means guaranteed.
Pretty is many things to many people remember. Id rather spend my time with an interesting person than a pretty one with nothing to say.
Its you, the person between your ears' that counts.

your only 11 you wont fully be deveoloped until 17 or 18 dont worry everyone has gone through this stage dont worry about, but if you do want to be skinnier, dont strave yourself, just eat healthier, but allow your self to eat some of your fave. foods every once in a while, and it also helps if you tell your family you are trying to be healthier, not skinnier, your parents can give you some great tips, and try running around the block or something like that, if you have any questions tee@swbell.net good luck!

You're 11, don't worry about it. I was the same way until I was about 15, it's called an awkward stage, we all go through it. I'm sure your beautiful, but it may just take you a few years to realize it.

Do you mean pretty, or thin? Anyways, everyone goes through the ugly kid stage, once you start to mature you'll be amazed. Don't worry about it.
