Acutally, there have been some studies that prove chewing gum aids in concentration. Give it a try.

Hey-
I kinda had the same problem reicently... what I've been doing is working in 1-hour time blocks. After each our is up, take a 15-20 minute break. During the break, though, give your eyes a rest from studying... get up and do some laundry, go for a quick jog, let the dog out, etc. Also, try not to think about what you're studying. Lol, I know that may not make sense.... but like, for example, if you're studying for a Govnt. exam, and you really despise your Govnt. class, just pretend that you like the class. Don't be extreme and be like, "Oh I LOVE this class yay yay (sarcastic)" or anything like that though. Just don't think about whether you like it or not, and get it done!
Also, if listening to background music helps, then go for it. Sometimes I find that having music or talk raido on in the background keeps my mind "boxed in" and prevents me from drifting. But not everyone can do that, so try it and see if it works for you.

Study groups can help. Breaking the subject up into smaller parts and focusing on one at a time can be effective. Flashcards, especially if you get somebody else to flash them to you, can be a good way to get discrete facts down. Prioritizing the subject - finding out why it is relevent or what you can actually use it for - can be effective. Relating the subject to another subject you are currently studying and care more about can be a strategy. Asking students that are taking the same subject, what their strategies are, can sometimes help. Asking students who find the subject interesting, Why! they find the subject interesting, can give you insight. If nothing else works, talk to the teacher about it. There must be some reason that the teacher cares enough about the subject to teach it, and he or she might just get you through all of this if you are candid with them.

I know exactly how you feel. that's my problem too. so I just tell you how I concentrate on my studies.
First Tide up and clean up your room which you want to study. where you seat to study don't put any photo and don't study facing to a window. (to stop day dreaming)
If you feel you like to talk to some body or some friends that kept you mind bussy just put 10 minutes and call her/him.
Try to come over self by tell you have to study it is important. Make a second personality in yourself that demands you like a teacher.
Give your self breaks but be very on time to finish the break. if you want to take 5 minutes break to make it 6 minutes.
while you are on the net close your messengers and never listen to songs but only listen to musics which there is no song in it. (to stop remembering good or bad memories)
And at the End just get it easy don't push your self by drinking coffee or cold shower. study gradually and get a good night sleep (compelete 8 hours) and do some exercise once a while.
Best of Luck

You will have to concentrate long enough to read 1 or all of these links or go to page with all of web sites.
Each of us has to find what works for us best, but using some of the below methods may help you find your niche.
Concentration is a matter of practice. Our minds are designed to carry out several tasks at once if needed, as a matter of survival. It’s common for our attention to be split in many directions, and our modern society also demands this of us. But learning to take control of the focus of our attention is a critical skill in developing the self-control needed for magick.
