There is no loss of weight when the body dies. This was tested by someone (whose name I can't remember) a long time ago with the hope that the "spirit" would weigh something, that weight would be lost, and thus the existance of a soul proven. This simply does not happen.
Either the "spirit" is weightless or non-existent. I think non-existent is the proper answer to that question.

In the early 20th century attempts were made to measure a change in body weight at the point of death, in order to ascertain the mass of the soul. Results were found and published, but unfortunately, the error margins in the measurements turned out to be much greater than the weight loss they claimed to have detected. It is immensely difficult to come up with an experimental set-up to measure the weight of a dying person, because as long as they remain alive, their autonomic functions (breathing etc) continue to represent movement that disrupts the scales.

define a "reliable site" in science we don't post evidence on web sites we post it in scholarly journals. and regarding the weight loss as snopes explains in the second half of the the page, the results are highly suspect because of a total lack of consistency between multiple tests even by the same experimenter: "What to make of all this? MacDougall's results were flawed because the methodology used to harvest them was suspect, the sample size far too small, and the ability to measure changes in weight imprecise. For this reason, credence should not be given to the idea his experiments proved something, let alone that they measured the weight of the soul as 21 grams. His postulations on this topic are a curiousity, but nothing more." in science it's not just about finding evidence its about other people being able to find the same evidence that you found, and to find it in a consistent manner, no such replications have worked for this weight loss on death thing.

Maybe the weight of a dead human is the same when they were alive ...
or maybe the time of human death was loooooong before you found the body and caused the maggots or bacteria to eat his insides and caused the body to lose weight
